The Agentic AI Hype Is Real — But Most Companies Are Deploying It Wrong

Every company I talk to right now is deploying “AI agents.”. Certainly, every deck I see has a slide about agentic AI deployment. Furthermore, every job posting wants someone to “lead our agentic AI strategy.” The hype is real. However, i won’t argue with that. But most of what I’m seeing deployed isn’t agentic. It’s a chatbot with a fancier name and a bigger price tag.

What “Agentic” Actually Means
